Here are some important questions to ask your mover before you sign any contract or agreement.

Estimate Related Questions

• Can the mover come out and visually inspect the things to move and give a binding estimate?
• Is the estimate binding or non binding? If it is binding and you are satisfy with the estimate, make sure you get it in writing.
• How many days is the estimate good for?
• Will there be any extra charges for issues such as parking difficulty, road access, moving and delivery time restrictions, stairs, or elevators?
• How much will additional weight cost you?

Company Record Related Questions

• Is the moving company licensed to move in your state? Ask for the actual license number and verify.
• Is the prosective moving company a member of the BBB?
• Check for yourself if there has been any complaints against the moving company in the BBB.
• Is the company an actual moving company or is it only a broker?
• Does the company handle interstate moves or contract it out?
